About me...
My family is originally from the Saint Joseph, Missouri area. I grew up in Iowa and Nebraska after my family moved from Missouri. My high school was in Papillion, Nebraska, were I lived, worked and went to college after graduation. I have my Bachelors of Fine Art from Bellevue University in Nebraska and my Master's of Education from Avila University in Kansas City, go Eagles!
I changed careers in 2009 to focus on my favorite part of my previous business management jobs...teaching others. Each time I trained new employees I enjoyed watching how they learned, more than I enjoyed the tasks I was training them to do. It was an inevitable change of paths when I began my program at Avila.
After student teaching at Shull Elementary, I substitute taught until I was given the priceless opportunity to work at Stonegate Elementary. It has been three years since I first began working with the staff and students in our district. I knew right away that I was surrounded by great teachers, mentors and friends, as well as amazingly compassionate students.
We are so lucky to have great families in the RayPec community!!
At home, I have one son, Johnathan, he will be in third grade this year. He keeps me on my toes and is growing up way too fast! We spend lots of time at practices and games around town, as he plays soccer, basketball and baseball. We enjoy spending time with family, playing outdoors, movie nights at home, traveling and going to Table Rock Lake. Being a parent is truly a gift from above!
In the classroom, I have the privilege of working with some of my favorite educators and the most incredible students I have ever worked with! My students this year are among the very best, they openly share their kindness, humor, passions, quirks and curiosity with me everyday while they unknowingly inspire me to become a better teacher, learner, parent and friend!
I thank all of my families for allowing me to spend each school day with their amazing children! My hope for this site is to keep you up to date on important information concerning your child and to provide you with some resources for your family. Please don't hesitate to communicate with me at anytime, [email protected] is my current email.
I am looking forward to all that we will learn and experience together this school year!
